How to reach us
From the airport
Trinacria Express: take the “Trinacria Express” underground to the Central Railway Station in Piazza G. Cesare, there take the AMAT bus n. 109 towards Piazza Indipendenza where you will have to change the line and choose one of the following options: take the Ast line that runs along Corso Calatafimi and leads directly to Monreale in Piazza C. Inghilleri near Corso P. Novelli at about 200 m from the Cathedral, or take the AMAT bus n. 389 which ends in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele (Cathedral Square).
By car
Take the A29 motorway which connects the airport with the city. At the motorway exit, always going straight in the direction of Catania-Messina, enter Viale Regione Siciliana and after passing the three main junctions of Viale Michelangelo – Viale Lazio, Via Leonardo da Vinci – Via Notarbartolo and Via Pitrè, turn right just before the overpass, and take Corso Calatafimi. Go straight on for about 4 km until the end, reaching the junction of the SS 186 ring road; continue on the right and take the ancient “panoramic road” along it for about 2 km, thus reaching Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, where the famous Norman Cathedral is located, and where you will find indications for parking.
By bus
With the private bus service provided by the company Prestia & Comandè get to the Central Railway Station in Piazza G. Cesare, take the AMAT bus n. 109 towards Piazza Indipendenza where you will have to change the line and choose one of the following options: take the Ast line that runs along Corso Calatafimi and leads directly to Monreale in Piazza C. Inghilleri near Corso P. Novelli at about 200 m from the Cathedral, or take the AMAT bus n. 389 which ends in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele (Cathedral Square).
From the Port
From the Port of Palermo, take via Emerico Amari all the way to Piazza Castelnuovo where the Politeama Theater is located; once there choose one of the two possibilities to get to Piazza Indipendenza where you can continue to Monreale: bus line Amat n. 824 (Politeama-Sant’Erasmo) stop in Piazza Indipendenza, or Amat bus no. 108 (Politeama-Civic Hospital) stop in Piazza Indipendenza. Once in Piazza Indipendenza, change line and take either the Ast line which, along Corso Calatafimi, leads directly to Monreale in Piazza C. Inghilleri, close to Corso P. Novelli, about 200 m from the Cathedral, or bus no. 389 of the Amat which terminates in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele (Cathedral Square).
From the Central Station
From Palermo Central Station located in Piazza Giulio Cesare, take the AMAT bus n. 109 towards Piazza Indipendenza where you will have to change the line and choose one of the following options: take the Ast line that runs along Corso Calatafimi and leads directly to Monreale in Piazza C. Inghilleri near Corso P. Novelli at about 200 m from the Cathedral, or take the AMAT bus n. 389 which ends in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele (Cathedral Square).
